“Kurashi no Izumi”
“Connecting support, building a better future.”
At the Living Information Center, we have long supported Nikkei (Japanese-descendant) single mothers and their children in the Philippines. Our mission has been to create opportunities—especially for children who lack access to education—and to help families build hopeful, stable lives. Through this work, we continue to serve as a bridge between Japan and the Philippines.
In 2024, we took an important new step by launching Kurashi no Izumi, a home-visit care service based in Chikusa Ward, Nagoya. This initiative responds to some of Japan’s most pressing challenges, including an aging population and a shortage of caregivers. At the same time, it creates meaningful opportunities for mothers from overseas to build new lives in Japan by working in the caregiving field.
At Kurashi no Izumi, we provide in-home care that allows older adults to live safely and comfortably in familiar surroundings. We focus on each individual, offering compassionate, personalized support that respects their dignity and way of life.
We also support mothers who have come to Japan from the Philippines by helping them gain professional caregiving skills and qualifications. Through training programs and certification support—including pathways to becoming certified care workers—we empower them to grow, work, and contribute to their local communities.
Our goal is to create a cycle of support—where those who once received help can go on to support others. Through Kurashi no Izumi, we are building a future where people are connected across communities and cultures, and where everyone has the chance to live with purpose and support one another.
Support Program for Single-Mother Families in the Philippines
We provide ongoing support to Nikkei (Japanese-descendant) single-mother families living in the Philippines, helping them build a future where they can live with hope and stability.

Home Care Service: Kurashi no Izumi
In response to Japan’s aging population and declining birthrate, we established Kurashi no Izumi, a home-visit care service. Through this initiative, we provide compassionate in-home care while also nurturing individuals who can contribute meaningfully to their local communities.
We support mothers who come to Japan from the Philippines by helping them obtain professional caregiving qualifications. Through training and ongoing guidance, we empower them to build stable careers and play active roles in their communities.

“I lived alone for many years, but after my physical condition worsened, each day became filled with anxiety. When the staff from Kurashi no Izumi began visiting me, I finally felt a sense of security in my daily life. Beyond helping with personal care, they take the time to talk with me and truly care about how I’m doing—that means so much. Now, I actually look forward to the days they come.”

“Living alone, I often felt anxious with no one to rely on. Since Kurashi no Izumi started visiting, my daily life has become much easier. They help with meals, laundry, and everyday tasks, and they treat me with the warmth of family. I’m truly glad I chose their service.”
